After reviewing ALL feedbacks for these speakers, I finally decided to buy a pair. The VE-12 F arrived quickly - I give A1 a credit for that, but other than that I think these speakers are well-overrated and overpriced. First, they doesn't stand to the dimensions, back-breaking weight (and the price in this case), considering the low's (bass) in particular. The bass on these VE12 is so poor that I need to crank it using equalizer. Highs and mids are somewhat great, but oh boy, does it lack a bass! My brand new Pioneer receiver doesn't help either in cracking up the bass either. Then I tried to exchange then just to find out that I need to pay for the shipping of $100 a piece! Make sure you hear the VE-12 FIRST at some music store before buying them!!!! (otherwise you would end up like me) Oh, did I say the take half of my room? (consider that too)

i'm very happy with this speaker. believe it or not but this speaker replaced my B&W 802 S3 . i really like the huge sound stage and crystal clear sound, at all levels. dianne schuur sounded live in my house dianne krall the piano sounded very real nice smooth sounding. ok back to my music :)

5/12/2009 I wanted to equip my home office with a good quality, AM FM 2 channel stereo system and chose the Sherwood RX4109 after reading many web-based reviews combined with the very attractive price seen at a1components. I also intend to route my office TV's audio through the speakers. My office is 12 x 14 ft with 8 ft ceiling ht. The Sherwood is powering a pair of Insignia IS-SP3WAY speakers which have a frequency response of 90Hz to 20KHz mounted 8' apart and 12" beneath the ceiling on one wall. An area rug covers most of the floor. I gave the Sherwood the highest rating based on the following criteria: * Ease of set-up. * More than ample power. * Signal Sensitivity. * Discernible Bass/Treble response to adjustments. * Clean, even sound. * Ability to give the Insignia speakers a real workout in hearing the woofer, midrange, and tweeter perform the way they were designed to, w/o distortion. (This review is not about the speakers but the ability of the tuner's signal and amp to provide continuous clean power at all listening levels.) A strong signal was achieved with only extending the folded dipole FM Antenna, included. My home is approx. 18 Mi. from NYC with good elevation. In summary, I trusted the Sherwood brand, and found that this tuner/amp kicks with the best of them, has an awesome amount of reserve power, and is easy to use and adjust. The full function remote is a real plus as well. I would recommend the Sherwood RX4109 for any serious listener anytime and believe it would drive most any high-end speaker. I will be purchasing another one for our bedroom, for playback with our HD LCD widescreen TV. My only comment: There is no signal strength meter or bar; the word "TUNED" will be displayed when reaching the correct frequency.

I have CV fronts and rears, 12s in front and 10s in the rear, and have had a small dual 3" Advent center so I wanted to match all my speakers. The CLS-6C is more than I could have hoped for. It allows me to turn the volume up but not so much that the mains and rears drown out the center and it booms the dialogue. If you've got CVs then this is an awesome center. I have it connected to my 1014TX and after running the MCAAC it's good to go, no adjusting needed. Thanks a1 for a great product at a great price with great service. Lee

I had a 15 year old set of Cerwin Vega RE 25 (10") woofer. The new VE 12F are better. I don't need a lot of bass. These put out the higher frequencies to make listening enjoyable no matter what I play! The old REs are getting refoamed and will be part of my home theater system. 15 years on a set of speakers means pretty good construction. The VE 12F are highly recommended and offered at a great price with free shipping. I don't know how long that will last ! By the way, I ordered these on Monday and was listening to them Thursday night. Thanks for the fast shipping!

I purchased a set of cerwin vegas for $500 each back in 1986 at Sears!.They lasted some 23 years, so you can see why I returned to a tested product. I purchased a set of the CLS-12's at less than $299.00 each! The qualiy is still there after all these years.But what I am most impressed with is the SOUND! The highs are so clear, it's like the artist is in front of you. The well known bass still delivers but ever so smooth. My new Harman Kardon 3490 feeds them perfectly, and my Yamaha CDC-697BL adds the finishing touches to a great sounding stereo system. Love, love, love my Cerwin Vegas!! I am pleased with our Cerwin-Vega VE-8F speakers. They have great sound which fills a medium sized room quite well. Ours are setup as part of a home theater (2.1 system). When I purchased them I was a little concerned that they would have enough base. They sound great. We listen to mostly rock and country along with the TV. There is no problem getting to really enjoy the music. They do not have as much base as our Cerwin-Vega AT10's but sound just as good. In a larger area a bigger speaker might be desired (like our living room/dining room where the AT-10's are located), but in a medium sized area they are great. Trebble and midrange are also very strong. They are also very nice looking speakers.

These speakers sound awesome with my HK AVR254, probably wouldn't have gone with the stands though, the mounting bracket that I used for the center channel speaker would have worked well on the sattelites as well. Don't buy these if you are concerned about inobtrusiveness, they are obtrusive, loud, and crystal clear.

Purchased for connecting my Dish Satilite Receiver to a phone line. Unit installation was streight forward and both receiver and extension connected right away. Problem was the noise on the phone line, I was able to make noisy phone calls with them connected but it was far too much noise to stay connected with Dish Network. My connection would constantly disconnect.After tring many different outlets it was the same story, too much noise to stay connected. I hope you have better luck than I.

I haven't used the component video switch. I use the composite and S-video switches. The compostie input connects to the S-video output. I can mix older composite games with newer S-video devices and use the S-video output. That was my primary reason for purchasing this switch. I bought one to test it out. Then I bought three more.

I bought 3 units which I willuse to distribute Harddisk Media players and digital Cable throughout the house. 1 unit failed out of the box, the other one failed after less than 1 hour. The other one is still working. Despite the failures, I ordered again 2 more and will return the other two for replacement. As far as performance, the picture and sound is superb, as if I am using a/v cable. I would have given this product a 5, but because of the failures, I gave it 3. BTW, the price of 12.99 for a PLL synthesized modulator is a steal !

well, i bought these speakers less than a week ago. ordered on friday, and got here on monday. they have very good shipping here. ok, onto the speakers. the pictures on here do them no justice. from the black box (which is actually black vynil tape stuff) to the red foam surround on the woofers. they are really a beautiful piece of elegance. and the sound. oh my the sound. right out of the box, they sound great..although the bass sounds a bit hollow, but once they loosen up a bit, there is just flawless, low bass. the mids and highs are awesome too. i have never owned a set of speakers that can send out such great highs as these..you can hear absolutely every high note. overall, i love these speakers. they sound better than a lot of professional dj setups..at least around here anyway. i am pushing them with a yamaha 6.1 ch surround receiver with 115 watts rms per channel. the cerwins sound a lot better when they are bi-amped than single wired. right now though i have them singled on the a channel and a set of infinity towers with 12" woofers on the b channel. so much bass! but i can honestly say that these cerwins sound much better than the infinity's. i am extremely happy with they vega's and would recommend them to anyone looking to spice up their home theater experience or music.

Had difficulties initially, as the switch sync'ed on the 2nd output; at least that's what the literature said. This [apparently] caused an audio problem (no audio on output 2). Swapped TVs and it worked - for 2 weeks anyway. Output 1 died. I am returning and will hope this was just infant mortality.

I live only 18 miles from the Empire State Building transmitter, but digital signals are hard to capture because my first-floor apartment windows face the wrong way. I hooked up the 7777 to an old indoor Recoton antenna, and now I get digital FOX, ABC, and my9. Not a bad start

WOW!!!! I didn't realize anyone still made REAL speakers!!! These are powerhouse speakers. If you have room for them I would highly reccommend. I have them connected to a 140 watt per channel Yamaha A/V unit and it is plenty of power for these. Astounding bass, and as loud as you want while maintaining quality of sound. They sound wonderful for movies and music alike.

Speakers are built well. They look nice too. Fit and finish are good. I was told by people at A1 that I should get the 12's instead of the 15's since I was going to be pushing them with a THX Pioneer reciever alone. I cold have more than driven the 15's. Oh well. The 12's sound good. Just need more a lttle more bass. Sadly, I don't see the Cerwin Vega powered 15 on this site anymore. Just the 12. My luck.

Works great and has a very wide range. Sound quality is good. I further extended the range by installing this with wireless speaker systems. I just plug the wireless speaker transmitter to the Audio Sender USB receiver. Would be nice to be able to buy extra receivers. Remote control would be a great improvement too. Price is very reasonable.

I am very fond of them they are a improvement on my massive Fisher towers that just ate up the room. Wish they had a little more bass but over all i am pleased with this speaker tower.

This speaker is working wonderfully. Accually It sounds better than any of my other speakers. I leave it on all the time and I have had no problems with it at all. I have the Dual Sub woofer that goes with the set and it has blown badly. The was on at the same time and it just fine.

I purchased a pair of Cerwin Vega 12" speakers to replace an older pair. I'm glad I did. These replaced an older pair of Cerwin Vegas with the same components and output. These of course sound much better and more defined - even in a louder environment. I think I'll buy another pair because they are truly sweet and descreet. I'm Sure the 15" Cerwins are even that much better!

This is a very inexpensive but most effective way to create a whole house audio system. Each station has its own controller where you can pick your audio source and the volume you want without affecting other areas. I am very pleased with the quality of the unit and the features. If the keypad doesn't have the correct IR codes the MCS-2A controllers can learn from a remote control. Over all I am very happy with the product and the service provided by a1Components. The turn around time from ordering to being at my front door was very fast. john

Lets talk bang for the buck. As an owner of a pair of cerwin vega D-3's when it was time to upgrade cerwin vega was my first choice and a good one it was. The VE-12 speakers give you exactly what you would expect from a good pair of loud speakers. From the 70's rock that i love to the jazz and blues music i listen to daily these speakers cover the full spectrum. Give them the proper time to break in and you will love what they give you back. As for A-1 components I am amazed at just how great a company this is. The staff are not only friendly but will help you in every step of the way and in any way they can. (Julie your the best!) Works great with satellite receiver in living room and 19 in TV on patio. Only problem was interference with wireless Internet connection but that seems to be solved by selecting a different channel. I would recommend this product.
