Element-Hz™ HDMI IR Control Kit
The ELE9191IR is the perfect balance of beauty and performance. This HDMI IR Control Kit from our Element-Hz™ line extends the signal from your remote controls (for Blu-Rays, DVRs, set-top boxes, etc.) by sending the remote control's IR signal over your HDTV's existing HDMI cable. This device is easy to install, and most importantly, it keeps your install clean and organized.
Everything You Need
With the ELE9191IR, there is no need to install additional cabling; you can use your existing HDMI cable. It’s compatible with any HDMI equipped device!
For the Installer, By the Installer
This IR Control Kit takes out all the guess-work. It’s simple to install and it’s, without a doubt, the most reliable device of its kind on the market… Here’s how it works:
The ELE9191IR uses the CEC channel of your existing HDMI cable run to send the IR signal through. When the signal from your remote control hits the IR sensor (included), the signal travels into the transmitter unit and is injected into your HDMI cable. On the other end of the cable, the receiver unit picks up the signal and outputs it through the included IR emitter which is facing your video equipment's IR sensor. Rest assured that this kit will give you perfect control of your video devices every time!
Note: The CEC channel is used only for certain HDTVs that can send control commands to your video sources. If you use CEC, you don't need to extend your remote controls. This device has a switch that allows you to choose between IR injection and CEC channel-use.
Quick & Simple Install
This easy 4-piece solution only takes a minute to install! Here’s how to do it:
Simply connect the transmitting unit (target sensor) directly into your display's HDMI port.
Reconnect your display's HDMI cable into the transmitting unit's female HDMI port.
The transmitting unit has a port that accepts the included IR sensor which will receive any and all brands of remote control signals. Place this included sensor somewhere near, or on, the display where you will be aiming all of your remote controls. And as an added feature, a sticky adhesive is included on the underside of the sensor, allowing you to discretely place the transmitting unit directly on, or near, your display.
Now plug the receiver unit directly into your video source's HDMI port. The receiver unit has a port for the included IR emitter which you point at your video source's remote control sensor. (The emitter also features an adhesive for discrete placement)
That’s all it takes!
